Email Subscription

  • You can subscribe to an email at apellido.mx through the homepage or by entering the Get my Mail section on the website.
  • The user must complete the following information: first name, paternal last name, and optional maternal last name.
  • The system will provide two options to choose from depending on the availability of domains. All emails will be composed as follows:
    • [email protected].
    • If the paternal last name is not available, different options will be displayed, including the combination of both last names or the inclusion of the domain: ape1.mx or successive numbers depending on availability.
  • Once the email address is chosen, the user must select the price that best suits their preferences. There are two types of packages:
    • Basic

      2 GB of storage for email and contacts. Personalized name usage: [email protected]

      Monthly cost: USD29.99

      Annual cost: USD$23.99

    • Plus

      5 GB of storage for email and contacts. Personalized name usage: [email protected]

      Monthly cost: USD$38.99

      Annual cost: USD$33.99

    • All plans include:
      • - 256-bit encryption security
      • - Calendar for managing appointments and sending invitations
      • - Compatibility with any email application
      • - Webmail access from any mobile or desktop device
  • Payment can be made by credit or debit card via PayPal.
  • Once the user makes the payment, they will receive information about their order and additional data in their alternate email and newly subscribed email. This information will assist if they want to link their new email to any email application (Workspace) such as Google, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.
  • If the user wants to subscribe to an additional email account, the only way to do so is through their control panel, which can be accessed via the My Account link on the apellido.mx site.
  • The user will have two accesses once the service is subscribed:
    • My Account - leads to the account control panel where the user can modify the subscribed plan, suspend their subscription, or subscribe to new emails.
    • My Email - direct access to their new email account.
  • The user's new email will reside in the "Roundcube" application unless they decide to move it to another Workspace.

Refunds

Refunds are not available; the service can only be canceled, and renewal will be voided. Once the service is subscribed, the user can cancel it at any time, but the validity of the contracted period remains, and once that period expires, the service will not be renewed.

Payment

The accepted payment method at Apellido.mx is credit or debit card via PayPal. The PayPal payment gateway ensures the security of the transaction. To use it, it is not necessary to have an account; simply choose the credit or debit card option and make the payment.

Affiliate Program

The affiliate program at Apellido.mx works as follows:

  • If the user refers someone and they subscribe to the service, both will receive 50 points, with each point equivalent to one peso, which will be deducted from the next payment.
  • There is no limit to the number of referrals, so your subscription could be free.
  • To inform a referral, send an email to the referred person or ask them to include your apellido.mx email on the subscription screen.
  • In the "My Account" section, the user can review how many referrals they have and how many points they have accumulated.

Password Use and Change

The user can change the control panel passwords in the My Profile section of the control panel. If the password is forgotten, a new one can be requested at any time.

The email password can also be modified within the control panel as often as the user wishes. If it is forgotten, it can be recovered by entering the alternate email or phone number provided during registration.

When you initially create your first email on apellido.mx, the passwords are the same, but if you create a different account name, make sure to memorize it to avoid mistakes when logging in.

At apellido.mx, you can have different emails for your employees or family members under the same account, each with its own password. These emails are managed under a single Administration account with its own account name and password.

The advantage of having an alternate email and a mobile phone is that it makes it very easy to securely recover control of the account or email.

Email Platform Functionality (Webmail)

To access the email viewer (Webmail), a Roundcube screen will appear in English. Follow these instructions:

  • Webmail Home" button in the email viewer.
  • Every time you access the email viewer (Webmail), this Roundcube screen will appear because at apellido.mx we use a state-of-the-art open-source platform called Roundcube. If you want to go directly to your email, simply select the "Open my inbox when I log in" option, and it will no longer appear. If you wish to return to this screen, just select the "Webmail Home" button in the email viewer.
  • If you wish to change the Webmail viewer language to Spanish, follow these steps:
    • 1- Open the Roundcube email viewer page.
    • 2- In the left sidebar, click on the "Settings" button.

    • 3- Select the first option: "User Interface."
    • 4- Choose the language you want to use: "Spanish (Latin America)."
    • 5- Click on "Save."

  • The maximum file size you can send is 50 Megabytes. This size generally exceeds the limits allowed by other platforms, so if emails bounce, check if it’s because the recipient does not have that capacity.
  • To automatically forward emails to another address (Forwarding), follow these steps:
    • 1- From your email viewer (Webmail), select the "Webmail Home" button.

    • 2- Click on the "Manage Your Inbox" section and select the "Forwarders" option.

    • 3- Add a forwarder by following the instructions.
